Free templates help make creating a tangram heart valentine banner for DIY Valentine’s Day decor as easy as can be. A fun and simple valentine craft project idea!
I went through a phase when I was little when I loved to play with tangram puzzles. Something about the way all of those pieces fit together so precisely was so incredibly satisfying! For my Valentine’s Day mantel decor this year, I decided to create a tangram heart valentine banner. Printable templates make this a fun and easy craft project to make for Valentine’s Day, but this banner would be really fun for a baby shower or wedding, too!

Tangram Heart Valentine Banner Supplies
-
Printable Tangram Heart Banner Templates: Sheet 1; Sheet 2
- White cardstock
- Metallic cardstock (I used gold and silver)
- Scissors
- Adhesive roller
- Hole punch
- Ribbon
Print the banner background heart pieces (Sheet 1) onto the white cardstock. Print the tangram pieces (Sheet 2) onto the back side of the metallic cardstock. (My metallic cardstock came in 12×12″ square sheets, so I used a paper trimmer to trim them down to 8.5×11″ to run through my printer.)
Use scissors to cut out the tangram pieces, as well as the heart background pieces.
Arrange the tangram pieces on top of the white cardstock heart background pieces, and secure the tangram pieces with the adhesive roller.
Punch holes along either side of the completed hearts, as shown, and thread the hearts onto the ribbon.
Your your tangram heart valentine banner is complete!
I added a couple of hearts with a black background to the mix for my banner to go along with the black and white theme of my mantel. You can mix and match the different metallic colors on the same heart for a fun changeup, too!
I love the shimmer and shine of the metallic cardstock here, but if you prefer, you can also use traditional Valentine’s Day colors to make the banner, too. It would look great is classic red, white and pink!
My Bless Your Heart sign and tobacco basket are both from Kirkland’s. My white metal leaf wreath is from Hobby Lobby.
