Until I really delved headfirst into blogging a couple of months ago, I honestly had no idea the depth of talent that abounds in the blogosphere. To be surrounded each and every day by such talented women (and men!) who continually wow me with their immense creativity is nothing short of inspiring. I truly look forward each week to perusing the other projects my fellow bloggers have to share!
I have had child-related projects on the brain all week, and I have to say there have been some absolutely terrific projects pertaining to children posted that have really impressed me this week. Some of my favorites:
Each and every little detail of this monster birthday party at Multi-Purpose Wings made me giddy. The girl behind this spread, the sweet and ΓΌber talented Anj, is nothing short of brilliant! The mix-and-match cupcakes she served are too darling for words, but these little monsters? Ohmygoodness. CUTE! I do hope one of my kiddos is amenable to the idea of having a party like this one of these days, but if they aren’t, I might just have to throw one for myself!
Kimbo, the creative force behind A Girl and a Glue Gun, truly outdid herself with this little car mat! I just can’t get over the attention to detail here. The thing even has pocket “garages” to facilitate storage, and it rolls up compactly to make for tidy portability. I love everything about it (and I know I have two little monkeys who would, too!).
I cannot say enough how tickled I am when someone shares a project they’ve created using one of my tutorials or ideas as inspiration. Lindsay from The Pratts created these marvelous framed silhouettes for Mothers’ day based on my Framed Silhouette Vignettes. They turned out beautifully, and I have no doubt they’ll be treasured by their lucky recipients!
Ladies, feel free to grab a featured button, and thanks so much for letting me spread the word about your terrific work!
We are regulars at our local library, and I was thrilled when I saw the new children’s book by Candace Fleming, Seven Hungry Babies, in the new book section during our last visit.
Don’t miss this book! It is an absolute delight, and the ending is sheer perfection, and sure to make you (and your little ones) smile!
So guess what I ordered yesterday?
I am venturing into the wide world of cloth diapering! Am I a hopeless idealist? Totally insane? No matter; I am so excited for that package to arrive, I can hardly contain myself! π Incidentally, if anyone has any experience with cloth diapering and/or advice to lend, I’m all ears!

My only suggestion for cloth diapers, is invest in Rockin’ Green detergent. They have a good website and great samples you can try before buying a whole bag. I am clth diapering and this detergent really saved my life. There are alot of sites out there. Just try and read up before your daipers make it.

Glad to hear that someone still uses cloth diapers. I recently held a baby shower for a friend and thought about getting her cloth diapers. No stores in my city carry them. I finally found diaper pins for a game we were playing at a vacuum supply store of all places. Cloth diapers are a great way to save the landfills but also a must have for a back up plan in case you run out of disposables. I think they make great gifts for new moms.

Those little monsters are DARLING! My 4 year old saw them and loves them, so we are making them this morning! I think we’ll make a little owl for my 20 month old too. Thanks for the link!

Fun finds. LOVE the monsters…they are too darn cute!
Cloth diapers…go mama! I thought about it with both kids and didn’t do it (lazy I guess). Of course now (with my second) they have much better “tools.” Good luck…sorry no tips.

Why is it that kids have all the fun birthdays? Love those monsters!
And I’ve made silhouette portraits of my husband and me for our bedroom — they were quite easy and turned out fabulous (if I don’t say so myself!)
