I took a few cute pictures of the kiddos this week that I thought I would share. I honestly still have moments when I take a step back and think, “Whoa – I have three children!” I know that probably sounds a bit odd, but the last couple of months have been such a blur in so many ways, there are some days when I take a look down and sweet Cecily while she’s nursing or at Jack and Charlotte while we’re reading a book or I’m fixing them their lunch, and I realize that although I’ve been interacting with them all day long, I haven’t really seen them at all. Does that make any sense? I definitely have days where I am run ragged with all of the needs and wants that come along with raising three children under four, but it really, truly is such a joy. Don’t get me wrong: there are moments when everyone is in a tizzy and I am trying my darnedest to manage pacifying each of them simultaneously that make me want to lose my mind. But then, just like that, tranquility returns and the older two will be playing so tenderly with the baby, or Cecily will smile up at one of them (don’t you love that last photo? She is especially fond of her big brother), and I am filled with such an overwhelming happiness. It’s all worth it.
What’s on tap for us this weekend? Raking leaves!! I think we are due a hate letter from our neighbors soon if we don’t get this under control…
Oh! And Matt and I are going on our first post-Cecily date Saturday night!
Take care, everyone, and happy Friday!
