Small handmade holiday crafts are so fun to make and share with friends! This adorable Mason jar snow globe features cute holiday-themed miniatures from Michaels all nestled with tiny snowballs inside a vintage Mason jar. This is an easy Christmas craft idea that makes a great little gift for someone special!I’ve teamed up with Michaels and the Michaels Makers to bring today’s post to you. All opinions are my own.
Mason Jar Snow Globe Supplies
- Mason jar
- Foam core board
- Craft knife
- Holiday miniatures from the Tiny Treasures collection at Michaels (bottle brush trees, deer figurines, tiny bells, etc.)
- Miniature styrofoam snowballs
- E6000 adhesive
Cut 2 circles of the foam core board using the craft knife that is 1″ smaller in diameter than the lid of the jar. Stack the two pieces on top of each other, attaching together with the E6000 adhesive. Center the stacked pieces inside the jar lid and affix with the E6000.
Arrange your miniature elements as desired inside the lid, using the foam core circle as a “riser.” (This will help make your decorative pieces more visible in the finished project.) Secure the pieces in place with the E6000.
Sprinkle the miniature snowballs inside the lid, adding enough to fill to the top rim of the lid. Add 4-5 miniature bells to give the finished globe a fun little jingle.
Dump the snowballs and bells from the lid into the bottom of the jar, and then screw the lid on tightly to the jar. Invert the jar onto the lid, and you have yourself a sweet Mason jar snow globe to enjoy throughout the holidays!
These are such a fun project to make at a craft night with friends. They are also wonderful for making with kids to give as gifts to teachers, friends and more.
I love that these are a fun seasonal take on the fairy gardens that are so popular right now!
