Kids’ snack ideas that are healthy and fun are some of my favorite things to make my kids to eat after school. This fun owl snack for kids is adorable and so easy to make!
Food in fun shapes has always been a hit with my kids, and animal-shaped food is particularly popular with my crew. I love to surprise my kids with yummy after-school snacks when they get home in the afternoon. These cute owl snacks are so easy to make with delicious Special Edition Farm Rich Pimento Cheese Bites, which make putting a delicious snack on the table possible in just a matter of minutes. Owl Kids’ Snack Ingredients
- 2 Farm Rich Pimento Cheese Bites
- 3 slices Monterey Jack cheese
- 2 mini bell peppers (red and orange)
- 1 baby carrot
- 1 cucumber slice
- 2 sliced black olives
Tools: Paring knife, small circle cookie cutter or biscuit cutter, large piping tip
Owl Snack Prep
- Use the piping tip to cut two small half circles from one of the cheese slices. Using the same tip, press the tip down just below the curved edge of each piece to form two crescent shapes, as seen below.
- Use the cookie or biscuit cutter to trim two larger half circle pieces from the two remaining cheese slices.
- Use a paring knife to slice a thin ring from each of the peppers. Cut each of the ring pieces in half.
- With the paring knife, trim the baby carrot in half. Reserve one half for the owl beak. Slice the remaining piece in half lengthwise, and then cut two triangle notches from the bottom of each half to form owl feet, as seen below.
Bake the Pimento Cheese Bites according to the product package instructions. You will need two of the bites per owl, but trust me: you will probably want to sample one or two as you make the owl snack for your kids, because they are so yummy! Owl Snack Assembly
- Place two of the cooked Pimento Cheese Bites side by side on a plate.
- Center a cucumber slice under the Pimento Cheese Bites, and then place the carrot beak on top of the cucumber slice, nestling it between the bites.
- Arrange the large half-circle cheese slices on either side of the cucumber, and then place the carrot feet along the bottom edge of the cucumber.
- Finish by adding a crescent cheese slice and an olive slice on top of each of the Pimento Cheese Bites for the owl’s eyes, and then add some bell pepper feathers above the eyes.
Your owl kids’ snack is finished and ready for your kiddo to enjoy while acing his or her next homework assignment!
