There is nothing that serves you a reality check regarding your social life more conclusively than New Year’s Eve as the parents of three small children. Matt and I were both in bed well before the ball even dropped in New York City, but the good news about that was that it allowed us to have a lovely day today, sans the regret of a raucous night out. Even though the temperature was brisk, the sun was shining, so we decided to venture to the park for some much-needed fresh air. With all of the rain we got last year (we finished up 2009 with over 80 inches!), we have learned to appreciate and seize the days when there isn’t a deluge to contend with.
We are absolutely thrilled with how much better Cecily is doing. Just yesterday and today, she is so much more interactive and content. In spite of the fact that she is teething (not even four months, and already cutting her first tooth!), she has been chatty and happy. What an answer to prayer to think about how far she has come since she first fell sick exactly two weeks ago tonight. I wouldn’t wish that experience on my worst enemy!
