With Halloween right around the corner, craft a Halloween googly eye garland to decorate your home in whimsical style. This garland, which features scraps of festive ribbon and black and white google eye embellishments, is quick and easy to make, making it a perfect kids’ craft project. And because it uses small sections of ribbon, this is a great scrap-busting project, too! Let’s get started putting one together.
For this project, you will need…
- Various types and colors of ribbon, cut into 6-7″ sections
- White paper-coated floral wire
- Scissors
- Black and white cardstock
- 2-inch circle punch
- 1/2-inch circle punch
- Craft glue
- Hole punch
- Twine
Directions
Cut a section of floral wire that is the desired length of your finished garland.
Tie the ribbon pieces along the length of the wire, pushing them close together so that none of the wire is visible.
Use the 2-inch punch to cut 8 circles from the white cardstock. Use the 1/2-inch punch to cut 8 circles from the black cardstock.
Overlap 2 of the white circles at the center, and adhere with craft glue. Adhere a black dot to the lower edge of each circle to form the googly eye “pupils.” Allow glue to dry completely. Repeat with the remaining circles to form 4 sets of eyes.
Punch a small hole through the top of each set of eyes, and thread a small section of twine through. Space the sets evenly along the length of the garland, securing with the twine.
You are finished!
