Wouldn’t it be nice if there were a school, a university, to attend to learn all of the creative techniques you want to know? The course handbook would contain classes like Sewing 101, Painting 101, Crafting 101, and just about anything else under the sun that allows you to flex your creative muscles. It would be a place to enrich yourself with new knowledge, and somewhere to hone skills to enable you to make your world a bit more beautiful with items made with your own two hands.
Allow me to introduce you to Creativity U, where creativity is always in session!
More than anything, blogging has brought me the most joy through teaching others. It is because of that that I am going to be establishing a creative university of sorts here at Positively Splendid called Creativity U.
Creativity U will be all about simple how-to’s, delivered straight to you in PDF format to give you the flexibility to learn on screen or in print, whichever you prefer. These mini “courses” will cover a range of topics, with simple sewing techniques, crafting techniques, food crafting techniques and more. It is my hope that Creativity U can ultimately become a terrific learning resource to visit whenever you desire to learn a new creative skill!
The first Creativity U post, which will cover the ins and outs of sewing envelope-back pillow covers, will make an appearance tomorrow. Until then, I would love for you to share in the comments the types of posts you would like to see covered in the sessions. Befuddled by bias tape? Petrified by paint? Let me know, and you just might see a future Creativity U session devoted to that topic!
Wishing you a week brimming with creativity!

I always love finding new tutorials for crafting techniques, especially in sewing and crocheting. Being the crafting spaz that I am, I need to see something spelled out step by step to lessen the chance of ending up with a project fail and me throwing things across the room out of frustration. 🙂

It does help so much to have step-by-step instructions to guide you along the way. I am excited about this series!

I would love easy directions on using the Cameo–project specific. I am struggling with it big time!
Thanks.

Love this idea, I started to visualize an actual campus! I just discovered my crafty side a little over a year ago and I’m amazed by the pure joy I get from it. Look forward to your classes! Thanks for giving back.
