My parents made the trek from New Mexico a few days before the actual holiday to spend an early Christmas with us before packing up and heading to Denver to spend time with Lori’s crew. Just after they left, Matt’s parents and Leigh and John arrived. It was an action-packed week to say the least, and especially when we factored in the fact that Cecily was so sick throughout the better part of it. Poor little angel! We are always thrilled, though, to host everyone in our home each year, and this year – in spite of the nasty bug that decided to rear its ugly head just in time for all the fun – was no exception.
I was so proud of the funky napkins I made Mom (see the photo at bottom right below). I might just need to make some for myself!
With cookie baking and decorating, game playing, toy assembling (thank you, Leigh and John!) and waiting for Santa’s arrival, there was nary a dull moment during our time with the Bell crew. We were so thankful Leigh and John could make it safely here in spite of the torrential rains that fell here in the days prior to Christmas and left parts of I-30 completely covered in water!
