Once again, my sewing machine is earning her keep! (It just dawned on me I need a name for her…anyone have any suggestions?) Here are a couple of projects I’ve completed recently. The overalls, a gift for a friend’s sweet baby girl born in January, are yet another of my projects using the Jackie Clark Baby Overalls pattern. I tucked the little crayon rolls into the same package for the proud big sisters. This terrific crayon roll tutorial from Skip to My Lou has is flat famous in the crafty blogosphere, and I have to say, the popularity is well-earned. These make such terrific gifts for little ones, and they are a marvelous way to use up scraps from other projects! I have started making a few to have on hand for birthday parties and such.
The butterfly hair clips attached to the crayon rolls I made based on this tutorial. Of all of the boys I’ve ever made, this particular type is without a doubt my very favorite! Not only do they have “fancy-schmancy boutique” written all over them, they are an absolute breeze to put together. And don’t they look darling clipped on the crayon rolls? That was a last-minute addition on my part, but for little girls, I don’t think I’ll ever be able to do things any other way from here on out. 🙂
