I’ve partnered with Plaid today to show you how to set a beautiful farmhouse fall table with easy DIY elements that are deceptively easy to pull off!

Armed with great finds from Target, including versatile Delta Ceramcoat® Acrylic Paint, I created a tablescape that will be perfect for any fall occasion, including the biggest fall feast of them all: Thanksgiving! Continue reading to find out how this table came together, with full instructions for how to make DIY place card holders, wood plank chargers, and on-trend painted pumpkin centerpiece.

Farmhouse Fall Table Supplies

For the Leaf Place Card Holders:

Leaf ornaments (In store at the Target Dollar Spot)
Painter’s Tape
Mini wood clothespins
Delta Ceramcoat Acrylic Craft Paint: White and Pumpkin
Paint brush
Hot glue

For the Wood Plank Chargers:

Basswood plank (In the craft section at many Target stores)
Painter’s tape
Paint brush
Delta Ceramcoat Acrylic Craft Paint: White

For the Painted Pumpkin Centerpiece:

Unfinished wood craft pumpkin
Pencil
Ruler
Delta Ceramcoat Acyrlic Craft Paint: White, Black and Rain Grey
Paint brush
Adhesive wood shape (In store at the Target Dollar Spot)

Farmhouse Fall Table Project Instructions

Leaf Place Card Holders

Round up all of your supplies, including the Delta Ceramcoat paint. This paint is such a versatile formula to work with, as it is able to be applied to a number of different surfaces (including wood, terra cotta, plaster and paper mâché), and it dries to a lovely matte finish. The coverage of this paint is terrific, and it is so handy that Target carries it in 22 great colors, as well as 6 colors of the Delta Ceramcoat Flash Metallic paints, which dry to a glossy, reflective color.

Remove the jute hanger piece from the top of the ornament. Apply two pieces of painter’s tape to create a stripe down the center front of the leaf ornament. Use the paint brush to apply the white Delta Ceramcoat paint within the stripe. When the paint has dried, remove the tape.

Paint one of the mini clothespins with the Pumpkin Ceramcoat paint, and set it aside to dry completely.

When the clothespin is dry, use a dab of hot glue to attach it to the front of the leaf so that it covers the hole that the hanger was threaded through before. Now, use the clip to attach a place card, and you are all set!

Wood Plank Chargers

Tape off the top and lower edges of the basswood plank with painter’s tape. To create an inverted chevron design, make a small inverted V at the bottom center of the piece. Place more inverted V shapes of painter’s tape above the first, spacing each V about 1 inch apart, until you reach the top taped-off edge. (Refer below.)

Use a brush to apply the White Ceramcoat paint within the boundaries of the painter’s tape, leaving the top and lower edges unpainted.

When the paint is dry, remove the tape to reveal your design!

The rustic feel of these chargers is so great for a farmhouse style.

Painted Pumpkin Centerpiece

Sketch a 2″ grid on the front of the pumpkin using the ruler and pencil. On the top row, label every other square with a G (for grey). Leave the other squares in this row blank (for white).

On the second row, label the squares that border the G squares above with a B (for black). Label the remaining squares in this row with G.

Label the bottom row as you did the first. Refer to the photo below as an example.

Using the brush, paint each square its designated color. Paint the stem black, and allow the paint to dry completely.

Affix the wood shape sticker to the lower right-hand side of the pumpkin, as shown.

This buffalo check pattern makes such a nice statement as a fall centerpiece!
