*Although you can use synthetic felt for these flowers, I highly recommend investing a bit more into wool felt, as the texture and weight of the finished flowers is so much nicer.
To begin, cut a circle shape from the felt color you want to use for your flower. (Your finished felt flower will be roughly half the diameter of the circle you cut.) Use the shears to cut around the circle in a spiral, as shown.
Starting at the center of the spiral, roll the piece up tightly.
When you reach the end of the spiral, secure the end with a dab of hot glue. Carefully set the flower aside.
Use shears to cut a circle piece that is roughly the same size as the back side of the flower. Apply a generous amount of hot glue to the entire back side of the rolled flower.
Affix the circle felt piece to the back side of the flower, pressing firmly to secure. This will ensure the flower doesn’t come unrolled, so be very generous with the amount of hot glue you use in the previous step!
If desired, cut leaf shapes from the green felt and affix them to the sides of the finished felt flowers.
These rolled felt flowers take just a matter of minutes to make, but they are so fun and so versatile! I used mine to create a fun centerpiece perfect for spring.
