Warmer weather always makes me want to dress up my front door in spring style. Today, I’m sharing a fun DIY wreath project for spring that is brimming with beautiful botanical elements I found in the Michaels Floral Market. This project took me 30 minutes from start to finish, and the completed wreath makes a lovely spring statement on my front porch. Read on for all the details for how this botanical spring wreath comes together!
This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Michaels. All opinions are entirely my own.
To make a DIY botanical spring wreath, you will need…
- Wood letter monogram wreath form
- Acrylic paint (For this project, I used Martha Stewart Crafts Multi-Surface Satin paint in Sea Lavender)
- Foam brush
- Assorted greenery stems and flowers
- Wire cutter
- Hot glue gun
- Ribbon
Note: All supplies above for this project are available at Michaels
To begin, paint the surface of the wreath form with the acrylic paint using the foam brush, applying as many coats as needed for even coverage. Allow paint to dry completely.
Use the wire cutter to trim away the stem portions of the greenery sprays and flowers so that they are short enough to arrange around the wreath without having the stems visible in the finished project.
Arrange the various greenery and flowers on the wreath as desired, and then affix each one to the wreath form with hot glue. Continue adding elements until the outer perimeter of the wreath is completely covered.
To finish, thread a loop of ribbon through the top of the wreath, and finish with a bow. Your botanical spring wreath is complete!
The delicate color scheme of this wreath would make a perfect addition to any home decor, but I could also see this project as a lovely way to display a new couple’s monogram at a wedding or bridal shower!
The Floral Market at Michaels is filled to the brim with over 500 new styles of flowers, so you can easily adapt this project to any color scheme or style. There are so many possibilities!
This wreath is part of the monthly Michaels Makers challenge. This month’s projects are all about refreshing your home’s spaces this spring with lovely floral elements!
