When I was a child, I can receiving a bunny made out of a washcloth by my grandma. It was a light blue color, and I loved it so much! After all of these years, I still have fond memories of that Easter and the love shown to me by my grandma through that handmade gift. I can’t wait to make bunnies for my own kids this year to create new memories of our own. The traditions we make with our children and the little things we make together and give with love truly are the foundation for the traditions and memories to last a lifetime!
Cadbury Bunny Easter Craft Supplies
- White felt
- Pink felt
- Shears (I used pinking shears, but regular shears will do)
- 3/8″ grosgrain ribbon
- 2 wiggle eyes
- 1 button
- 2″ white pom-pom
- Hot glue
- 1 Cadbury Crème Egg
To begin, cut a 10×10″ section of the white felt using the pinking shears. Lay the felt piece on a work surface, and, starting at one of the corners, make a 1″ fold, as shown. Continue making 1″ folds until you reach the opposite corner. Apply a small dab of hot glue to the corner, and press to secure.
Place a Cadbury Crème Egg at the center of the rolled piece, and then fold the two corners up and around the egg, as shown. Pinch tightly to secure. Tie a ribbon around the gathered portion, and secure with a bow.
Using the shears, cut 2 small leaf-shaped pieces from the pink felt. Affix one piece to the inside of each ear with hot glue.
Using hot glue, affix the the two wiggle eyes and the nose to the front of the piece for the bunny’s face. If desired, add some felt whiskers along either side of the nose, and then affix a pom-pom tail to the back side of the piece.
Your adorable felt Cadbury Bunny is complete!
What child (or adult, really!) wouldn’t be charmed by this adorable little face and puffy tail?
And the fact that the center contains a delicious, irresistible Cadbury Crème Egg makes this all that sweeter!
