Sometimes the simplest projects can make a big impact. Case in point: this super quick, super easy fall leaf garland. Made with adhesive foam sheets and scraps of your favorite fall-colored fabrics, this is a fall craft project that can be made in minutes to spruce up any number of spaces. It is a great project to do with children, too! Ready to see how it comes together? Let’s get started!

- Adhesive craft foam sheets
- Fabric scraps
- Ball point pen
- Scissors
- Hole punch (I absolutely love my Crop-A-Dile for projects like this, as it cuts easily through the fabric layer)
- Twine
- Wooden beads
- Large embroidery needle
To begin, print off and cut out each of the fall leaf templates (linked above). I opted to cut off the stem from each leaf to streamline the project, but you can feel free to leave the stems on if you prefer.
Next, remove the paper backing from one sheet of the adhesive foam. Cut a piece of fabric that is the same size as the foam sheet, and adhere the fabric to the sticky side of the foam, using your hand to smooth out any bubbles as you work.
Use a ball point pen to trace the leaf shapes onto the foam side of the sheet, and carefully cut out with scissors.
Punch two holes about 1/2″ apart along the bottom edge of each leaf shape, as shown.
When the leaf shapes are all prepared, cut a piece of twine that is the desired length for your finished garland. Thread the embroidery needle with twine, and then start stringing the elements onto the twine strand. Add 2-3 wooden beads…
…and then add a leaf shape by passing the needle up through the first hole on the leaf and then down through the next, as shown.
Continue adding the leaves and beads in this manner until you reach the end of the twine piece.
Your fall leaf garland is complete!

…and the fact that is utilizes scraps of my favorite fabrics that would otherwise be discarded makes this a great stash-busting project. I love that!
