With children heading back to the classroom, surprise a special teacher with a gift he or she is sure to put to good use! This supply gift tote idea is made quickly and easily by upcycling a standard beverage container and then personalizing it with supplies from Scotch. The end result is a fun organizer that is sure to help get the new school year off to a great start!
I’ve teamed up with Scotch Brand today to bring you this post. All opinions are entirely my own.
For this project, you will need…
- 1 cardboard beverage holder
- Glass milk bottles
- Kraft paper
- Scotch™ Double Sided Tape (affiliate link)
- Pencil
- Scissors
- Scotch™ Expressions Washi Tape in 3 different designs (affiliate link)
- Gift tag
- Pen
- Ribbon
- Assorted school supplies: pens, highlighters, ruler, scissors, hand sanitizer, etc.
Note: Follow all Scotch™ Brand package instructions for proper surface cleaning and prep, adhesive strip placement and recommended weight claims.
Lay the beverage holder down flat on the Kraft paper, and use the pencil to trace around each of the four outer sides and the top handle portion of the holder. Cut out the pieces with scissors.
Use the Scotch™ Double Sided Tape to affix each of the cut paper pieces to its respective side of the beverage carrier, smoothing out any wrinkles.
Apply 3 rows of the washi tape along all four sides of the carrier.
Write the teacher’s name on the gift tag with a pen. Use Scotch™ Double Sided Tape to affix the tag to the front of the carrier.
Affix a bow to through the handle of the carrier, if desired. Place the milk bottles into the slots of the carrier and fill with the school supplies.
Teachers will love this gift which presents so many useful items in one convenient package!
